In the context of command-line interfaces, the pipe symbol is used to connect the output of one command to the input of another command. It allows you to chain multiple commands together, enabling data to flow from one command to the next. The pipe symbol takes the standard output (stdout) of the preceding command and redirects it as the standard input (stdin) of the following command. This allows you to perform complex operations by combining the functionality of different commands.
